Anti-Conversion Therapy
Share |

The New York City Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers  representing over 7,000 members in the city of New York, strongly supports the A.3977 (Glick) / S.263 (Hoylman) bill. This bill will prevent mental health professionals from providing sexual orientation change efforts to minors by defining such activities as professional misconduct.  The NASW code of ethics states that we must respect the dignity and worth of a person, treat each person in a caring and respectful fashion, and be mindful of individual differences including cultural and ethnic diversity.

  • NASW -NYC and NYS held a very successful Press Conference and Lobby Day on April 25thClick here to view the press release
  • A panel discussion for social workers, legislators, policy makers, association representatives was held on February 28 at Fordham University to share information on opposing conversion therapy.
